See How Footprints is Changing Hearts

A MAGAZINE YOU CAN RELATE TO...

I can see that you are very passionate about this work and are open about yourself. Thank you for sharing about yourself in "Test Your Powers of Perception." I too live in a run-down place - we have been renovating for four years... and still going! Desre, Glendenning N.S.W.

A MAGAZINE THAT REACHES OUT...
Your magazine is a wonderful outreach tool, spreading God's Word in a special way to Australian women.

Marilyn, Chittaway Bay NSW.

I can't thank you enough for having the courage to be so honest and upfront about the depression that you have suffered.  I couldn't believe how much I related to your articles - especially the first one where you described depression. I spent many years in ministry and to admit to depression has carried with it so much guilt.  There are so many Christian people who believe that depression is a sign of failure in our Christian walk and unfortunately this stops so many of us from being honest about what we are going through.  It can make the journey very lonely. With support I am sure there would be a lot more people who could work their way through this illness. As you have mentioned I too believe that this is a widespread condition.  How sad that more people can't be helped and ministered to without feeling a failure or guilty. I have just shared with my husband and he is very supportive.  When he read the first article he said it was just as I would have written. I do feel a lot better knowing that I am not alone.  The one thing that I was really afraid of, was that if anyone knew I was on antidepressants then they would feel that I couldn't help anyone ever again because I hadn't conquered my own failings!  It really is hard to think clearly when you are depressed. I really appreciated your information on your experience with Zoloft. I don't know which one I will be put on, but I feel a little more confident that it will help to restore the injured areas of my brain. I love the Lord with all my heart but would love to really love him with all my emotions and I know that my depression has interfered with many relationships. I can't really believe that I am writing this because although I have always been a practical down to earth sort of person I am admitting what I have been hiding from myself for years. Thank you so much and God bless you in every area of your life. I hope that many others read your articles, because we desperately need  Christians to understand that depression does not mean that we are damaged goods that will always be that way. Everyone has a burden of some sort to bear.  Some are obvious and some are not.  Let's believe that we can have the Lord's compassion and understanding for all our brothers and sisters.  I am very grateful to you for sending me your articles. D.A.

SOMETIMES HARD HITTING...
Just a quick email to say I really enjoyed the latest edition of Footprints (July-Sept 2004). Just about ALL the articles were wonderful reading but the one which touched me most was "Martyred." This really got to me. I know the people in this article and it made me feel like crying to even picture the scene, but also it made me realise afresh how very fortunate we are here in this great nation to have the religious freedom that we take so much for granted. If the scenario portrayed in the story were to happen at my church I HOPE I would have the strength & courage NOT to deny my faith, but sometimes I wonder..... Name withheld by request.

BUT ALWAYS INTERESTING
Just had to congratulate you once again on the most recent issue of Footprints. Every article interested me ... you're attracting excellent writers from the readership as well. Keep up the good work. It's needed! Lyn, Sinnamon Park QLD.
