CALLING CHRISTIAN WRITERS "DOWN UNDER!"

Footprints is a quarterly magazine produced by Footprints Women's Ministries Incorporated as a not-for-profit publication. Based in Brisbane but with a readership across Australia, Footprints welcomes contributions from readers. Women of every denomination read Footprints, so our content focuses on the 90% that unites us as Christians, rather than the 10% that divides.

Footprints reserves the right to edit contributions for length and clarity. We publish a wide range of material, such as inspiring testimonies, articles, how-to's, fillers, book reviews, interviews and profiles, quizzes, cartoons, recipes, practical tips, and funny children's stories and sayings. Maximum word length 900 words; we prefer less than 500. Why not try writing for one of our regular columns?

REGULAR COLUMNS

• My Favourite Scripture: up to 600 words about how a verse or Bible passage has been particularly meaningful to you.
• God Answered My Prayer: up to 600 words - share the joy of your answered prayer to uplift and encourage others!
• Book Review: 400 words about a great Christian book you've read recently, fiction or non-fiction. Must be currently sold in Australia ; preference given to works by Australian authors.
• Letters: Has a story in Footprints or a current event made you sad, mad or glad? We love receiving your comments and feedback!

EDITOR'S TIPS

• Show us your Shorts! The shorter your contribution, the easier it is to find a home for it in the pages of Footprints. Ideally, your story will be from 300 - 500 words.
• Support Footprints - subscribe today! Preference given to ORIGINAL works by our SUBSCRIBERS. You can subscribe at www.footprintsaustralia.com/Resources.html .
• Aussie material preferred - Apologies to those who are not from Australia and NZ, but it is extremely rare that we publish material from overseas contributors (excepting ex-pats or missionaries).
• Don't use Christianese - Please avoid using Christian jargon and stories of a "preachy" nature. Our magazine is read by a lot of people who are not yet Christians, or very new to the faith, so please keep this in mind. As Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life says, "People need fewer "ought-to" sermons and more "how-to" sermons" - and articles!
• Footprints is FOR real women, BY real women - Keep your writing friendly, practical and to the point.
• Fiction - Footprints does not publish fiction at this time.
• Poetry - Footprints receives a lot of poetry submissions, yet only prints four or five poems per year. No more than 20 lines please.

We appreciate your prayers and support for Footprints as we encourage women in their walk with the Lord, and reach out to those who don't yet know Him.

You can email your contribution to editor@footprintsaustralia.com , with the title in the subject line, and the article attached as a Word Document. Please use Arial size 14 font and have your name and email on each page. Our editor will try to get back to you promptly, but it can take up to 6 weeks to receive a response.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer monetary payment - just a heavenly reward! We will however send you a copy of the issue that your work appears in. Footprints is a not-for-profit publication, produced by volunteers with a desire to serve God and women through the medium of writing.
